Awards Received
The Cancer Survival Toolbox has been honored with several awards since it was created and continues to be recognized as a leading survivorship education resource:
- Health Information Awards, 2009
- The National Health Information Awards recognizes the nation's best consumer health information programs and materials. The Cancer Survival Toolbox received two awards, the highest given in each category, and was selected from more than 1,000 entries judged by a national panel of health information experts. The Cancer Survival Toolbox received a Silver Award in the Consumer Decision-Making Information class for Total Health Information Program.
- Additionally, the Living with Multiple Myeloma module of the Cancer Survival Toolbox, which addresses issues faced by people affected by the disease, also received the Silver Award in the Patient Education Information class for Other/Miscellaneous Material.
- Web Health Award, 2009
- The Web Health Awards is a program that recognizes the best Web-based health-related content for consumers and professionals. NCCS was awarded a Web Health Award for the Cancer Survival Toolbox section of the NCCS Web site.
National Cancer Institute Cancer Patient Education Network (CPEN) Gold Star Award, 2000
- The Web Health Awards is a program that recognizes the best Web-based health-related content for consumers and professionals. NCCS was awarded a Web Health Award for the Cancer Survival Toolbox section of the NCCS Web site.
- The CPEN Gold Star Award recognizes organizations or groups that have made outstanding contributions to cancer patient education. The 2000 National Cancer Institute CPEN Gold Star Award was given to the four organizations that produced the Cancer Survival Toolbox: NCCS, AOSW, ONS, and Genetech BioOncology.
- Public Relations Society of America Silver Anvil Award of Excellence, 2000
- The Cancer Survival Toolbox won an Award of Excellence in the Corporate/Nonprofit Partnerships category of the Silver Anvil awards sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America. The Silver Anvil is the highest honor a public awareness campaign can achieve.

- The Cancer Survival Toolbox received honors in the ASAE Associations Advance America Awards. This award recognizes associations that propel America forward with innovative educational projects. The Toolbox received recognition in the category of Business and Social Innovation.

- Women Executives in Public Relations (WEPR) Foundation Crystal Obelisk Award for Social Responsibility, 2000
- The Cancer Survival Toolbox received the coveted Crystal Obelisk Award from the WEPR Foundation. The Crystal Obelisk is the only public relations industry award given solely for social responsibility.
