Who Needs the Toolbox?

The Toolbox is a premiere education tool produced by and for cancer survivors, but it can help anyone who faces hard decisions related to a cancer diagnosis or other serious illness.  Although originally created for people recently diagnosed with cancer, the Toolbox has evolved to offer a range of issues that are useful to the person diagnosed with cancer as well as their caregivers, family members and others close to them.  That's because the Toolbox helps you develop practical skills that are useful in your daily life as you deal with a cancer diagnosis and treatment -- yours or your loved one's.

There are six basic skills and six special topics covered in the Toolbox:

Basic Skills: Special Topics:

Communicating

First Steps for the Newly Diagnosed
Finding Information Topics for Older Persons
Making Decisions Finding Ways to Pay for Care
Solving Problems Caring for the Caregiver
Negotiating Living Beyond Cancer
Standing Up For Your Rights Dying Well - The Final Stage of Survivorship

You can listen to the Toolbox now, download it from iTunes as a podcast, or order a set of CDs to be sent to you.  You can also make this program available in your community using our Toolbox to Go.
