End the Pain - Support the National Pain Care Policy Act

Chronic, debilitating pain – something most cancer patients know all too well – is an undertreated epidemic in the United States. The National Pain Care Policy Act of 2009 (H.R. 756/S. 660) will make the care and management of pain a public health priority for the 76.5 million Americans – including as many as 70 percent of people with advanced cancer – who suffer from acute or persistent chronic pain. This bill will improve the understanding, assessment, and treatment of pain.

Read the statement by Reps. Lois Capps and Mike Rogers about the National Pain Care Policy Act of 2009. The U.S. House of Representatives has already passed the National Pain Care Policy Act, but there is more work to do. Ask your Senators to co-sponsor the identical bill S. 660, sponsored by Sen. Orrin Hatch.
