NCCS joined with a large number of organizations representing patients, health care providers, and other stakeholders to thank House Appropriations Committee, Subcommittee on Defense Chairman Bill Young and Ranking Member Norm Dicks for including $223 million in cancer funding in the 2012 Defense Appropriations Act.
The signers also expressed their hope that the funding remains in the final bill to be approved by the full Committee on Appropriations of the House and requested that the Chairman and Ranking Member oppose any effort to strip this important cancer related, as well as other medical research related, funding from the bill.
