This program teaches survivors to identify why it is important for them to participate in the decision making process, how they make decisions, how their style of decision making can work or be improved, and how they can weigh the pros and cons of deciding about cancer treatment. It uses survivor-focused scenarios to illustrate how to use the evidence-based skills taught in the first section to make a variety of important decisions on topics like choosing a treatment, getting a second opinion, entering a clinical trial, and understanding the role of complementary and alternative medicine.
