Survivor Golf Classic

NCCS invites you to celebrate and honor cancer survivorship by attending our Survivor Golf Classic. This event gives cancer survivors, supporters, and golf enthusiasts an opportunity to come together, have fun, and make a contribution toward improved cancer care. Reynolds Plantation is located one hour east of Atlanta and offers five world-class golf courses designed by the finest architects - Jack Nicklaus, Bob Cupp, Rees Jones and Tom Fazio.

The third annual Survivor Golf Classic took place at the Reynolds Plantation in conjunction with the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, GA.

2006 Bayer Presents Survivor Golf Classic

On September 18, 2006, NCCS and presenting sponsor Bayer Healthcare, hosted the second annual Survivor Golf Classic at the Reynolds Plantation Oconee Course in conjunction with the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, GA. U.S. Senator Saxby Chabliss, a cancer survivor, served as the Honorary Congressional Chair for the tournament. The event proved to be a great success. A foursome of cancer survivors sponsored by the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO) including Bill Brooks, Buzz Hanson, Paul McDonald and Steve Marcil, placed first in the tournament with a score 59. A number of other awards were presented at the luncheon following the tournament including longest drive and closest to the pin. The luncheon featured entertainment by the Atlanta-based band, Banks & Shane. In addition, NCCS staffer and cancer survivor Dan Waeger coordinated a Survivor Golf Challenge on hole 15.

2005 Bayer Presents Survivor Golf Classic

On Monday, October 24, 2005 NCCS hosted the first annual Bayer Presents the Survivor Golf Classic at the world-class Reynolds Plantation in conjunction with the Ritz-Carlton Lodge in Greensboro, Georgia. The annual Survivor Golf Classic was uniquely designed to celebrate and honor cancer survivorship and the first year proved to be a tremendous success! In all, 72 golfers participated in the tournament, including one adult and one youth foursome sponsored by the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology. In addition, all 18 holes of the Oconee Course and the driving range were decorated with signs celebrating and honoring cancer survivors.
