How do I change or add to my page once it's been created?
You can manage your personal, honorary or memorial page through the Champion Center. A link to the center is located in the upper-right section of the site. You can use the Champion Center to customize your page, manage your address book, and send e-mails to others announcing your new page.
When I go to create my page I receive the error message: "A user name and password already exist for this name and email address. An email will be sent to you shortly with the user name and password that was previously created."
As the message states, you should get an e-mail with the username and password for your account with NCCS. If so, please use it to complete the setup process for your cancerversary page. If you did not get an e-mail from our site administrator, go to our login page and request that your username and password be sent to you.
Help! I created a cancerversary page but it's not showing in search results.
This error most often occurs because your page was set to "hidden" during the setup process. Make sure your page is NOT set to "private" in the change settings section of the Champion Center.
Someone I know created a cancerversary page. How do I find it?
To find an existing cancerversary page, simply type the name of the person you’re looking for on our search page. If someone you know created an honorary or tribute page for someone else, you should enter the name of the person being honored – not the name of your friend.
I was just diagnosed with cancer. Can I create a cancerversary page?
NCCS defines a cancer survivor from the moment of diagnosis through the balance of life. If you’re living with cancer, you’re a survivor. Go ahead and create a personal page to honor your survivorship, and be sure to let your friends and family know about it, too.
I don’t remember when I was diagnosed, so how do I commemorate my cancerversary?
Your cancerversary date doesn’t have to be the date of your diagnosis; it can be the day you completed treatment, the day of your surgery, a significant day you remember from your cancer experience, or you can even make your cancerversary today – the day you learned what a cancerversary is!
I am not a survivor, but I still mark my loved one’s cancerversary. Can I create a page?
Cancer affects more than the person who is diagnosed; family and friends are also touched by a cancer diagnosis. On this site, you can create a page for your loved one and ask your friends and family to commemorate their special day, too. Just select the honorary page to create a page for someone you know.
I only want my friends and family to see my page and don’t want the public to be able to see it. Are there settings I can use to keep my page limited or private?
Yes. During the setup process you will have the option to select a checkbox that hides your page in any lists and search results. If you have already created a page and would like to change your privacy settings, visit the “change settings” link in the Champion Center.
Can I delete my page or account once it’s been created?
Currently, there is no way for users to delete or disable their page. If you would like your page removed, please contact a Web site administrator.
How do donations to my page work? What happens when someone donates to a cancerversary page?
Each cancerversary page (personal, memorial, and honorary) has a function that allows you to make a donation right to the page. It’s a quick and easy way to show someone you care about their cancerversary and about cancer survivorship, as your donation will put NCCS’s free tools and resources into the hands of cancer survivors.
NCCS offers free tools and resources including the Cancer Survival Toolbox® that help people overcome the challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. With nearly 12 million people surviving cancer in the U.S. and another 1.5 million diagnosed each year, there is an enormous need to make these resources more widely available. Our work is made possible though the dedication and generosity of those who sustain us.
I set up my page and want to do more to help survivors. How else can I get involved?
There are plenty of ways to get involved and help survivors with NCCS! First, you can join our network to receive e-mails including our monthly e-newsletter, which will keep you updated about what NCCS is doing on a regular basis. Do you have a story to tell? Share it with us by submitting a survivor profile on our website. Once you’ve submitted a profile, we’ll get in touch with you and talk about what you can do to help us help survivors like you! In the meantime, check out the advocacy section on our Web site to learn more about what advocacy means to you.
So, you've set up your cancerversary page and want to do more.
